Africa has a long coastline and extensive inland waterways, but it faces a persistent shortage of maritime technicians. This programme is run with Quanzhou Ocean College and serves Africa’s ports, shipping and fisheries sectors.
- Train frontline technicians in deck, engine-room and port operations, in line with relevant IMO standards.
- Provide curriculum, teaching materials and teacher training to African partner institutions.
- Arrange student and faculty visits to Quanzhou Ocean College for practical training and assessment.
- Adapt the curriculum to local African port conditions, so that graduates can take up work in their home countries immediately.
